The Fire Officer Mr. Purushoth of the Fire Control Unit in Jaffna at the request of the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, delivered a lecture on ‘Fire safety and preventive measures’ to a gathering of 93 Officers and Other Ranks at the 57 Division HQ in Kilinochchi on Wednesday (24).
The lecture culminated with a practical demonstration, conducted by the lecturer and his team offered the attendees with a broader exposure on causes of the fire, types of fire, controlling mechanism, different fire extinguishers, etc.
