57 Division HQ of the Security Force HQ-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) in order to plan out new approaches to accomplish its desired missions in line with the way forward strategy-2020-25 of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army being formulated at the Army HQ, conducted a two-day workshop at the 6 SLSR HQ auditorium with the participation of the Officers of 572 Brigade, 6 SLSR and 14 SLNG battalions during 22-23 July 2020.
The workshops aiming to develop the analytical thinking competency of middle-grade officers of under command brigades and battalions facilitated those respective Officers to work out a sound action plan at Brigade level to operationalize the way forward strategy of the 57 Division HQ.
The staff officers from the 572 Brigade Headquarters, 6 SLSR and 14 SLNG who contribute to decision-making processes at the battalion level including Commanding Officers participated in the workshop on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division who initiated the forum of discussions.
Brigadier Kapila Dolage, Commander 571 Brigade delivered a lecture on the theoretical aspects of the way forward strategy of the Army and the mission-oriented tasks' conceptualization/operationalization. The Officers were given the opportunity for work practically on deriving a sound action plan for their own battalion and the process within remaining brigades are to be continued in near future.
