With the express objective of assisting the communities for resolution of their pressing problems over water resources, irrigational needs, disaster management and other infrastructure matters, the 57 Division HQ of the Security Force HQ-Kilinochchi had a coordinating conference of officials, organized at the 571 Brigade HQ on Thursday (18).
In line with the guidelines, given by Major General Sujeewa Senerathyapa, the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division as per instructions of the Major General Jayantha Gunarathna, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, the conference focused on existing issues, development requirements, provision of drinking and cultivating water, irrigational development projects, and possibilities for mitigation of flood and disaster threats in Kilinochchi
Heads of Government agencies in Kilinochchi, Regional Managers, District Engineer of Water Supply Development Board, Engineers of the Regional Irrigation Office and Deputy Director of Disaster Management Centre - Kilinochchi In discussed those relevant issues in depth.
Further, the meeting was requested to inform the 57 Division HQ of required assistance for all relevant issues. At the same time, the officials appreciated the continuing contribution of the 57 Division for community-related projects in the area.
The General Officer Commanding - 57 Division presided the meeting. Brigadier D.K.S.K Dolage, Commander 571 Brigade coordinated the event.
