79 Army personnel including 8 Officers volunteered to offer their blood gratis to patients in Kilinochchi on Monday (18) after the Blood Bank at Kilinochchi Hospital turned to the troops for assistance.
The blood donation, organized at Mankulam Hospital premises by troops of the 3 Gajaba Regiment of the 57 Division, was also supported by the staff at Jaffna Blood Bank.
The project, aimed at supporting gestures of reconciliation and goodwill between civilians and members of the Security Forces received the blessings of both Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi, Major General Ralph Nugera and Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division.
