562 Infantry Brigade troops of the 56 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ- Wanni, together with 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops enlightened civilians in Marawankulam in Vavuniya on openings for self-employed job opportunities on Sunday (14) at Marawankulam Government Tamil Medium School as part of their civil-military projects.
This was staged according to a request made by the President of the Elders’ Society in Marawankulam under the guidance of Brigadier J.M.A Jayasekara RSP USP, Commander of 562 Infantry Brigade.
The session was conducted by Mrs Thusari Muthumali, Chairperson, Himansa Foundation and covered possibilities of manufacturing candles, cloth floor mats, wicks, joss sticks and wax lamps. Furthermore, 15 (V) SLSR troops delivered another session on production of compost fertilizer.
The Commander of 562 Infantry Brigade graced the occasion as the chief guest with the Civil Affairs Officer of the 562 Infantry Brigade, the Commanding Officer of 15 (V) SLSR, Senior Officers, the Development Officer of Marawankulam, key personnel of village societies and a considerable number of villagers.
