561 Infantry Brigade Supports Low-Income Families on International Women's Day

In conjunction with International Women’s Day, troops of the 561 Infantry Brigade organized a distribution of dry rations and an Ayurvedic medical clinic for low-income families residing in Kanagarayakulam on 07 March 2024 at the 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) camp premises.

Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest. During the program, 50 low-income families received dry ration packs. Among these recipients were 34 pregnant women, who were in need of nutritional assistance. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Kanagarayakulam Ayurvedic hospital, an Ayurvedic medical clinic was conducted for the beneficiaries at the same location.

Troops of the 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the 16 SLSR, under the supervision of their respective Commanding Officers, organized the event. The troops of the 561 Infantry Division, along with under command battalions and philanthropists in the area, provided financial contributions for the event.

Colonel M.G.A. Malandeniya RSP, the Commander of the 561 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
