The 561 Infantry Brigade commemorated its 15th Anniversary on 07 December 2024 with a series of events that honoured its proud heritage, fostering camaraderie, and reaffirming its commitment to the excellence. The celebrations were held under the leadership of Brigadier B.D Fernando USP Hdmc psc Commander of 561 Infantry Brigade.
The day began with a solemn Bodhi Pooja ceremony, seeking blessings for the Brigade’s continued success and the well-being of its personnel.
A ceremonial Guard Turnout was held to honour the Brigade Commander, Brigadier B.D Fernando USP Hdmc psc, followed by the troop address where Brigadier B.D Fernando USP Hdmc psc, acknowledged the Brigade’s remarkable achievements. Further, he paid tribute to the dedication, sacrifices, and resilience of all troops, urging all ranks to uphold the Brigade’s values while being ready for their duties to strive greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
The celebrations further nurtured camaraderie through an All-Rank lunch, fostering unity among the Brigade’s personnel.
The day concluded with vibrant activities that captured the Brigade’s dynamic spirit. A musical show brought joy and relaxation, while volleyball and cricket tournaments highlighted the troops' physical fitness, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
