In response to a request made by the District Medical Office at Vauvniya, troops of the 561 Infantry Bridge and seven Police Officers donated their blood to the Blood Bank at Vavuniya District Hospital on 15 September.
About 70 troops of the 17 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under command to the 561 Brigade of the 56 Division voluntarily came forward and donated their blood at the Nedunkerni Road Development Authority Circuit Bungalow, together with seven Police Officers for the benefit of patients in need of blood in Vavuniya Hospital and other hospitals in the Wanni region.
Five civilians in the area too joined the drive by donating blood. Under the supervision of Major General Wasantha Abrew, General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, the Brigade Commander of the 561 Infantry Bridge, together with the Commanding Officer 17 (V) VIR closely coordinated and organized it as one of their civil society-oriented humanitarian projects.buy footwear | Air Jordan
