561 Brigade Anniversary Promotes Civil-Military Relations

On account of the second anniversary of the 561 Brigade under 56 Division area in Vavuniya, troops recently conducted a series of religious and community projects that would help promote good relations between the Army and civilians continuously for five days in Vavuniya.

Religious performances in Hindu Kovils, Buddhist temples, Mosques and Churches blessed the troops serving the 561 Brigade in separate ceremonies.

As the second segment, a series of sports events were organized with the participation of civilians and members of the armed forces. The tournament at the end saw special gifts being awarded to the winners.

On the final day of the ceremonies, a musical show, tuned up by various popular Sinhala and Tamil singers took the centre-stage of the anniversary ceremonies.

Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni, Brigadier N.A.P.C Napagoda and a few more senior officers, along with a huge gathering of civilians in the area attended the concluding musical event.
