Major General K.N.D Karunapala RSP ndu assumed duties as the 30th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Infantry Division during a simple ceremony held at the Division Headquarters on 02 December 2024.
Upon arrival, GOC was accorded a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour presented by the troops of the 56 Infantry Division.
Afterwards, the GOC signed the official document, symbolising the acceptance of his new appointment amidst religious blessings. He then posed for a group photograph. In his address, the newly appointed GOC shared his vision for the division's future.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
