56 Infantry Division Holds Eye Clinic for Vavuniya Residents

The 17 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (17 SLLI) under command to 562 Infantry Brigade organized an Eye Clinic at Rajendrakulam Tamil Mixed School on 12 May 2024 with the aim of assisting visually impaired people in Vavuniya area.

382 visually impaired patients were benefited undergoing eye checkups. Furthermore, patients were donated spectacles under the evaluation of an eye specialist doctor. The program was launched with the generous contribution of Dr. Velayudham Sarveswaran, the Secretary of Assist to Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization and the event was conducted under the guidance of Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, staff of the Teaching Hospital Jaffna eye unit, Staff of Vision Care (Pvt) Ltd and residents in the area participated in the programme.
