Troops of 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment conducted a clinic and launched a donation program to distribute essential items for pregnant women in Vilayathikulam area on Friday (28). The clinic was held under the supervision of Dr Ms S. Sujani of the office of the MOH Vauvniya.
It examined more than twenty two pregnant women and prescribed necessary medications and nutrients. The program was organized under the guidance of the Commander, 562 Brigade, Colonel Senaka Premawansa. The General Officer Commanding of the 56 Division, Major General Wasantha Abrew gave his blessings to the project and closely observed it.
Towards the end of the Clinic, over 22 pregnant women of needy families were offered dry ration packs and other essentials required for a pregnant woman.
