With the participation of a large number of villagers, 56 Division celebrated Sinhala and Tamil New Year at the 56 Division sports ground on Wednesday (17).
The programme, conducted with the objective of enhancing the mutual understanding and the inter-relationship between soldiers and the civilians, included both Sinhala and Tamil traditional games and many more fun making events. Sponsorship of this event was borne by Nestle Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Brigadier A.K.P. Wickramasingha, Brigadier Administration & Quartering of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Ven. Atabagaskada Saddharmakeerthi Sri Sumana Siddhartha Kalyanathisasa Thero, a large number of villagers and many senior officers were present at the occasion.
