Troops of the 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under command to the 551 Brigade of the 55 Division under the Security Forces - Jaffna took into custody a stock of 48.9 kg of Kerala cannabis (Ganja), a fishing boat and two scooters during a beach patrol, conducted with Navy troops last night (30) around 11 p.m in a hide-out along the Point Pedro coastal belt.
Those recoveries were handed over to the Point Pedro Police station for further investigations.
Alert troops on the guidelines given by the Commander, Security Forces Jaffna, General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Commander 551 Brigade, together with the Commanding Officer of the 4 SLSR directed and supervised the troops during those patrols. Detections were made as per guidelines given by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army to be in line with the directives, issued by HE the President.
