On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the 55 Infantry Division distributed 30 packs of essential baby equipment to pregnant mothers on 08 March 2024 at Kilinochchi Hospital, offering them vital support as they prepare for motherhood.
Moreover, the celebration extended beyond Kilinochchi Hospital. Across various hospitals including Akkarayankulam, Poonakary, Veravil, and Dharmapuram, the 551, 552, and 553 Infantry Brigades organized a special lunch for women admitted to the facilities. This thoughtful gesture aimed to uplift the spirits of these women during their time in hospital care.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Forces – Jaffna, and Major General R.K.N.C. Jayawardena RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of the 55 Infantry Division.
Commanders of respective Brigades, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
