Troops of the 55 Infantry Division, under the guidance of Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardene RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of the 55 Infantry Division, undertook a cleaning and refurbishment project at the Kandasami Kovil in Kilinochchi on 08 July 2024.
This was carried out at the request of the Chief Kurukkal of the Kovil, aimed at preparing the temple for the 'Kumbabhishakam Festival 2024,' a significant religious event held once every 12 years. The Chief Kurukkal expressed gratitude for the troops' support by presenting a letter of appreciation, recognising their efforts in facilitating the festival preparations.
