To be in line with the government’s directive, Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna on the instructions of the Commander of the Army released a land patch of 1 acre 3 roods and 10.52 perches in Anandapuram, Kilinochchi, hitherto being used by troops for operational requirements in Kilinochchi on Friday (14 September 2023) during a ceremony.
Official documents of the land were handed over to Mrs Rupawathi Ketheeswaran, District Secretary for Kilinochchi by the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna during a colourful ceremony at the location. This piece of land was released in response to a request made by authorities at Kilinochchi Central College.
The ceremony began soon after the arrival of the District Secretary, Jaffna Commander, DIG, 55 Infantry Division's General Officer Commanding, Education Department authorities and the Principal at the venue. A brief religious prayer blessed the event.
Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardene RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) J.S Samudrajeewa, Kilinochchi Division, Brigade Commanders of 551, 552 and 553 Brigades, Divisional Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Secretary for Karachchi Pradeshiya Sabha, Principal, school staff with students were present during the event.
