The troops of the 55 Infantry Division held annual Christmas Carols Service at the Nelum Piyasa Theater in Kilinochchi on 26 December 2024, under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna), and supervision of Major General B.G.S Fernando USP Hdmc psc, the General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Bernad Gnanapragasam, Bishop of Jaffna, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Honourable Nagalingam Vethanayahan, Governor of the Northern Province, participated in as the Guest of Honour. The event featured a blend of carols performed by local church teams, vibrant dances, and live music.
Children were delighted with gifts, sweets, and toys sponsored by philanthropists and well-wishers. Clergy, Senior Officers from the Army, Air Force, and Police, Government Officials and Civilians, also joined the celebration.
