55 Infantry Division Celebrates its 28th Anniversary

The 55 Infantry Division celebrated its 28th Anniversary on 20 December 2024 at its Headquarters premises in Kilinochchi.

On 19 December 2024, Major General B.G.S Fernando USP Hdmc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 55 Infantry Division, was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the 6th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. Later, he addressed the troops of 55 Infantry Division and attended an All-Ranks Lunch.

In line with Anniversary Celebrations, on 18 December 2024, a Bodhi Pooja was conducted at the Lumbini Temple in Kilinochchi. On 21 December 2024, a delicious meal was provided to three special-needs children's homes in Kilinochchi. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the events.
