Troops of the 55 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ – Jaffna listened to a lecture on ‘Mines and Minerals Act’ on Tuesday (26 Sep) at the 55 Infantry Division auditorium as part of their training programmes.
The session was jointly conducted by Mr. E.H Ranjith Priyantha, Assistant Director Legal Geological Survey and Mines Bureau and Mr K.G.R.S Gamlath, Enforcement Officer. During the session, troops were educated on Mines and Minerals (Amendment) Act No 66 of 2009, how inspection of licenses related to transportation and excavation of Mines and Minerals and its legal background, etc are carried out.
A total of 136 Officers and Other Ranks participated in the session and 4 Military Intelligence Corps organized the event on the directions of Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardena RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division.
