Troops of the 542 Brigade of the 54 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force HQ-Wanni offered dry ration packets and school accessories among 25 needy families and 12 children living in Vikumpura village in Mannar on Sunday (6) after inviting the beneficiaries to the Vikumpura Grama Seva Niladari Office.
Troops of the 542 Brigade coordinated the donors, Mrs. Sagarika Fernanado and her family members. Each beneficiary got a dry ration pack, worth Rs 6000/= and school accessories to each student, worth Rs 2000/=.
Colonel T.L.M Chandrasekara Commander, 542 Infantry Brigade attended the occasion as the chief guest, together with members of the donor family.
The event was organized with the blessing of the General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division.
