In order to arrest the spread of Dengue and other viral diseases in the area 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 15 (V) Gemunu Watch troops of the 542 Brigade of the 54 Division took part in a Shramadana cleaning programme at Murunkan Maha Vidyalaya and its surrounding premises on Sunday (21).
542 Brigade Commander closely supervised the project with the blessings of the General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Major General Dharshana Wijesekara which was joined by troops and parents of those students in the school.
542 Brigade Commander, Civil Affairs Officer of 542 Brigade, Commanding Officer 8 VIR, Commanding Officer, 15 (V) GW, Principal of the school, teachers and parents joined hands together with the troops during the project.
