542 Brigade troops in Mannar with the objective of raising living standards of needy people in the area took steps to distribute cashew saplings among 26 families who have enough land space for cultivation of about 400 saplings on Tuesday (7).
The event was held at ‘Isamalathalthiv Community Centre’ in Mannar was attended by Colonel W.S.V Fernando, Commander, 542 Brigade as the Chief Guest. Commanding Officer of the 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Second in Command of the 15 (V) Gemunu Watch with 20 Other Ranks supported the distribution programme of the location.
