541 Infantry Brigade Troops Give Their Share to Proposed 'Coconut Triangle'

Taking one more step further, 541 Infantry Brigade troops of the 54 Infantry Division as per guidelines given by the Commander, Security Forces-Wanni gave their share to the ongoing coconut cultivation drive in the Wanni region and distributed 800 more coconut saplings among selected cultivators after taking those saplings to their doorsteps in Mannar and its suburbs on 11 December 2023.

Families received these saplings free of charge thanks to the initiatives of the Commander, Security Forces -Wanni and the Coconut Cultivation Board which supplied saplings free of charge. Troops of 10 (V) Gemunu Watch and 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment coordinated and carried out the project.

Wanni troops are also throwing their weight behind making the proposed 'Second Coconut Triangle' in the Northern province after it was inaugurated several weeks ago.
