THOPPIGALA: TROOPS OF THE ARMY serving south of TARAVIKULAM, THOPPIGALA, in another record-breaking detection uncovered a huge stock of weapons and explosives this afternoon (01) at about 1.30 p.m.
Fifty-four T-56 weapons, five T-81 LMG weapons, two hundred and twenty-eight 82mm mortar bombs, two containers of TNT explosives (56 kg ), two cans of C-4 explosives (56 kg), two 12.7mm belted ammunition were among the stock that was uncovered from a hidden place in that area.
Those weapons and explosives, left hidden by Tiger terrorists when they were on the run from the east, were all in serviceable state at the time of their recovery.
