The troops of the 54 Infantry Division conducted Christmas Carols Mannar - 2024 at St. Sebastian’s Cathedral, Mannar, on 19 December 2024, under the guidance of Major General R.P.A.R.P Rajapakse RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division. The event was guided by the Chief Celebrant, Most Rev. Dr. Fidelis Lionel Emmanuel Fernando, Bishop of the Mannar Diocese, with the assistance of under-command Brigades and Battalions.
Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander of Security Forces (Wanni), attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The carols, performed in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, conveyed the message of peace, featuring contributions from the Army Choir, St. Xavier's Girls' College, Adampan Central College, Murukkan Central College, and the Choir of Our Lady of Victory Church.
The event concluded with a vibrant fireworks display and refreshments for all attendees. Clergy, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Government Officials, and civilians participated in the festive occasion.
