54 Infantry Division Hosts Christmas Carols at Rajeshwari Church

Spreading the message of peace and Christmas spirits, the troops under 54 Infantry Division organized a heart-warming Christmas Carol service at Rajeshwari Church in Mannar on 27 December 2023.

The event held under the patronage of Reverend Dr. Phidelis Lionel Emmanuel Fernando, the Bishop of Mannar, on the invitation of General Officer Commanding (GOC), 54 Infantry Division. The occasion was graced by Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RWP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni. Hymns were sung in all three languages, Sinhala, Tamil, and English to mark the birth of Jesus, the 'Prince of Peace.' The participants extended wishes of peace and prosperity to the people in the world.

The event saw the presence of religious clergy from the area, District Secretary - Mannar, heads of the state department, GOC, 56 Infantry Division, Senior Officers from the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), 21 Infantry Division, 54 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders of 541, 542, 543 Infantry Brigades.
