General Officer Commanding, 53 Division, Major General Priyantha Senarathne made his Annual Official visit to the 532 Brigade on Monday (07).
On arrival at the main entrance, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier Dinesh Udugama, Commander, 532 Brigade. The day’s Chief Guest was greeted to a drive-pass at the entrance soon after his arrival in accordance with military traditions.
The day’s formalities at the Brigade Headquarters added more significance as the visiting Commander-53 Div was invited to plant a sapling and address troops.
Subsequently, he opened the newly-constructed protective wall (Bodhi Garaya) around the Bodhiya at camp temple and inspected the proposed water system in the Brigade.
Major General Priyantha Senarathne shared a cup of tea with all ranks along with the Senior Officers, Commanding Officers. Towards the end of the visit, Brigadier Dinesh Udugama, Commander, 532 Brigade awarded a special memento to the visiting Major General Priyantha Senarathne. He left compliments in the Visitors' Book before he left the camp. Officers and Other Ranks participated in the proceedings.
