After assumption of duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 53 Division, Major General K.P.S.A Fernando made his maiden visit to the Airmobile Brigade Headquarters at Vellankulam in Vavuniya during 11-13 November.
During his visit, he visited 24 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 3 Gajaba Regiment, 1 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 5 Gemunu Watch camps under the Air Mobile Brigade.
The visiting General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by respective Commanding Officers of the Battalions with military formalities and presented him with brief accounts about their role and tasks.
The visits adhered to COVID-19 preventive measures. Staff Officers of the 53 Division also participated in the visits.
