The annual cricket tournament of the 53 Division which was organized by the Air Mobile Brigade, concluded on 3 March with the finals, played at the Gajaba Regimental Centre Grounds, at Saliyapura.
The teams representing all Brigades, battalions of the 53 Division and Air Mobile Training School vied in the tournament.
The final match was played between 4 Gemunu Watch (GW) team and 5 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) team.
After a close tussle, 4 GW team won the match claiming the championship. However, Private A.R.S Rathnayake of 5 VIR team was selected as the player in the tournament.
Major General M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 53 Division graced the final award ceremony as the Chief Guest and gave away the trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.
