Troops of the 521 Infantry Brigade of the 52 Infantry Division on the request of the Principal at Varani Central College in Jaffna renovated a school building and vested it in the children on 17 May.
Troops of 5 Corps of Engineer Services, 15 (v) Gajaba Regiment and 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment provided their workforce for renovation of the school building within two months with raw materials supplied by the college.
State Minister of Education, S Aravinda Kumar (MP), Member of Parliament Angajan Ramanadan, Commander Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General D.B.S.N Bothota, General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Major General K.P.S.A Fernando, Brigade Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade, Colonel M.H.R Fernando, Project Coordinator Mr T. Selvakumara, Officers, staff of the school and students were present at the time of the formal handover ceremony.
