52 Infantry Division with its Troops Celebrates ‘Vesak’ in Jaffna

Following guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Major General K.P.S.A Fernando RWP RSP ndu, the 52 Infantry Division Headquarters and its under command 521 and 523 Brigades celebrated Vesak in their respective areas, decorating the areas with colourful Vesak lanterns and other decorations.

Further, the Division, Brigades and all under command Battalions arranged ‘Dansel’ at their respective locations, adhering to the guidelines issued by health authorities. A large gathering of civilians were present at all locations.

On a suggestion made by the General Officer Commanding, Major General K.P.S.A Fernando RWP RSP ndu, the best Vesak lanterns were selected by an independent board and awarded cash prizes for the first three places. Accordingly, the following Regiments received prizes and awards.

1st Place - 7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment

2nd Place - 11 Sri Lanka Engineers

3rd Place - 15 (V) Gajaba Regiment
