Under the guidance and leadership of Major General Y.M.B.A Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, and directions of the 52 Infantry Division, the 521 Infantry Brigade organized a football tournament to foster goodwill, unity, and sportsmanship among the youth while strengthening bonds between the civilian and the military communities.
The tournament kicked off with preliminary matches on 11th January 2025, at the 521 Infantry Brigade grounds and concluded with the finals on 16th January 2025 at Colins Ground, Nelliady within the 52 Infantry Division area.
In an impressive final match, Kodikamam Football Club represented by 523 Infantry Brigade secured a 3-0 victory over Wadamarachchi Football Club representing 521 Infantry Brigade.
The Chief Guest, Brigadier W.K.S.P.M.R.A.B Dodamwela, Commander of the 522 Infantry Brigade, presided over the finals, joined by Senior Officers, local officials, and community leaders.
Generous support from local sponsors, including Sellamuthu Textiles, Hotel White Tower, T20 Sports, Kuputhu Hotel, and Colombo Tex, contributed to the success of the tournament.
