Troops of the 52 Infantry Division giving their due recognition to Hindu spiritual invocations conducted a cleaning programme inside the Sri Ghanadurga Amman Kovil premises on Tuesday (April 04) at Eluthumadduval North, ahead of its forthcoming rituals and offerings in early April.
The project, a gesture of reconciliation and harmony was initiated in consultation with Kovil authorities under the guidance of Major General Sanjeewa Fernando, General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division with the blessings of Major General Swarna Bothota, Commander, Security Forces -Jaffna.
A group of Officers and Other Ranks of the 52 Infantry Division, together with devotees collected grabage, washed the walls in the sacred place and completed the project in order to keep the premises clean, neat and tidy before hundreds throng there for the offerings.
