In order to enhance sports skills among Jaffna youth whilst establishing an excellent relationship between the Army and the public, the 51 Infantry Division organized a football match at the CIMIC Park of 51 Infantry Division on Thursday (01 February 2024).
Yogapuram Anna star football team and the Selvapuram Udayasooriyan football team vied for supremacy, and Selvapuram Udayasooriyan football team finally clinched the victory. In addition to this match, kite-flying event and dancing programmes were also held at the same premises.
Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, (SF-Jaffna) Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, graced this occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away prizes, trophies and medals to the winning team.
General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division, Major General S.W.B Welegedara RSP VSV USP ndc, Commander, 511 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and a crowd more than thousand people witnessed the event.
