Under the direction and guidance of Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Forces - Jaffna, the 51 Infantry Division, in collaboration with the Urumpirai Jaffna Junior Football Academy, conducted a football tournament at the CIMIC Park playground at Headquarters 51 Infantry Division, Kopay on 6 and 7 July 2024.
Thirty-two junior football teams from the Northern Province participated in the tournament. Major General W.B.J.K Wimalarathna RWP RSP, the General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The 51 Infantry Division facilitated all the arrangements for the tournament. Eight teams were selected for the second round, which is to be held in due course. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, villagers, parents, teachers, and students witnessed the event.
