51 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-JFN) marked its 25th anniversary on Monday (24), giving priority to religious activities, with the participation of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 51 Division, Major General Lalith Ratnayake.
Army personnel donated their blood to the Blood Bank in the Jaffna Teaching Hospital on Tuesday (18) prior to the anniversary day and the troops afterwards attended religious observances, followed by offer of ‘Heel Dana’ (breakfast) to monks at Jaffna Sri Nagavihara Temple.
On the anniversary day, the GOC was honoured in a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by the troops in accordance with military formalities. Moreover, planting of a sapling, all rank tea party, a group photograph and opening of an automatic Wash Point for vehicles at the Division HQ followed the day’s programme. The arrangement concluded with an All Rank lunch, attended by the GOC, together with under command Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers. At dusk, troops attended a Bodhi Pooja ‘Pinkama’ and ‘Kovil Pooja’ at the Divisional Headquarters on 24 August 2020. affiliate link trace | Nike for Men
