A water purifying machine was installed for supply of drinking water to Selvapuram villagers in Kopay area recently at the request of the 51 Division General Officer Commanding Major General Janaka Walgama in Jaffna.
The installation of it was done inside the 51 Division Headquarters for the purpose of maintenance and a separate tap was made available to the village area from one corner end of the camp premises. It was commissioned on Poson poya day.
Water Missions Organization in Colombo in response to the 51 Division request donated the machine worth Rs. 2.5 million to the camp, considering the need to serve both purposes; the camp and the adjoining village.
Meanwhile, troops serving under the 51 Division held a Poson Dansela and distributed lunch to civilians in the area.
