5 Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) distributed dry ration packs and stationery items to 34 school children of Tevanpiddi Roman Catholic Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Mannar on 11 September 2024.
This donation, valued at over Rs. 300,000, was made possible through the sponsorship of Mr. Manjula Herath and his associates from the Sri Lankan community in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The charity programme was conducted under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of 5 (V) MIR.
The event was attended by Senior Officers, government officials, principals of nearby schools, teachers, and the students of school.
