The road near the Bogoda Bridge was inundated with water up to 3 feet following the opening of the sluice gates of Nachchaduwa tank due to heavy rainfall on 8 January 2023.
Accordingly, under the guidance of the Brigade Commander, 213 Infantry Brigade, troops of 5 Sri Lanka National Guard (5 SLNG) provided transportation support to civilians, allowing them to cross the road using boats.
