Boxers of 4th Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) claimed victory over their counterpart, 16th (Volunteer) Battalion VIR at the ‘Inter Unit Boxing Championship - 2013’ held at the indoor stadium at VIR, Boyagane on Wednesday (18). 16 (V) VIR became the runners-up in the tussle for 2013.
After arrival of the Chief Guest, Major General Jagath Dias, Adjutant General, Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, the final competition ‘Game for Trophy’, commenced with the participation of senior officers, several other officers and a large crowd of other ranks.
