The 4th contingent of the Combat Convoy Company (CCC) in the United Nations (UN) Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) upon completion of their service tenure in the MINUSMA returned to the island on Monday (3 July).
During the first phase, 6 Officers and 155 Other Ranks came back and the remaining group is expected to return after replacing 5th CCC undertakes its responsibilities in a few days.
The 14 Infantry Division Commander, Major General J.M.R.N.K Jayamanna RWP, Center Commandant of Gamunu Watch Brigadier W.B.J.K Wimalarathna RWP RSP with several Officers and relatives were at the Bandaranaike international airport to receive the first batch.
The 4th Combat Convoy Company includes 20 Officers and 223 Other Ranks, and the contingent is mainly composed of Gemunu Watch troops and they left for Mali on 23 May 2022.
