443 More Quarantined Persons after PCR Tests Bound For Home-NOCPCO

By this morning (03), 09 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 epidemic. Those 09 expatriates and foreigners were from India, (04) at Norochcholai QC, 2 from UAE in quarantine at Araliya Grant Hotel at Nuwaraeliya QC and at Mullaittivu Air Force QC, 2 from Kuwait in quarantine at Mulankavil QC and 01 from Qatar in quarantine at Punani Brandix QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 am this morning (03), the total number of detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts stands at 639. Of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 31 passengers and the flight UL 1206 from Israel and Jordan with 250 passengers arrived in Colombo and the flight UL 182 from Kathmandu with 26 passengers will arrive in Colombo this evening (3) and all of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (03), 443 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 76 persons are from Hotel Dolphin QC, 8 persons from Mt Lavinia Hotel QC, 65 persons from GSD Wellawatte QC, 254 persons from Hotel Gold Sand QC and 40 persons from Hotel Blue Waters QC.

Likewise, 35,780 individuals as of this morning (03) have been sent back home after quarantining. 8,239 persons in 74 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (02), 2020 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 230,547.

Meanwhile, 04 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (03). Two of them were expatriates in quarantine and other 02 individuals were found to have associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts. Accordingly, 626 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery. A total of 13 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment. (Ends)bridge media | Nike Off-White
