44 More Recovered Ones Leave Hospitals - NOCPCO

As of this morning (22), a total of 167 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 1 of them was an expatriate from Ethiopia quarantined at Welisara Air Force QC, and the rest 166 were locally-identified close contacts of Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (22), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 2510. Of them, 1,207 are factory employees and other 1303 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees.

The flight QR 668 arrived from Doha, Qatar with 29 passengers and all of them were sent to tri forces-managed quarantine centres after medical procedures.

Within the day (22), 165 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 13 persons are from Nipuna Boossa QC, 04 persons from Ruwala Kalpitiya QC, 05 persons from Rajagiriya Ayurvedic QC, 10 persons from Biyagama Village QC, 04 persons from Jetwing Blue QC, 13 persons from Chamlet Beach QC and 116 from Brandix Punani QC.

To-date, 56,112 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (22), 7,754 persons in 69 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (21), 8,568 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 406,466.

By 6.00 this morning (22), 44 fully-recovered COVID-19 affectees were discharged from hospitals. 04 of them are expatriates and 40 are identified as close contacts of Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs.
