405 Recruits Join Active Service in Punani PoP

A batch of 405 new recruits after completion of their basic Army training passed out at the 23 Division parade square in Punani on Wednesday (10) during a colourful ceremony.

Brigader D.D.U.K Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division took the salute from the new recruits as the Chief Guest of the parade.

The recruits completed their basic Recruit Course at 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East and they were subsequently absorbed into the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, Engineer Service Regiment and Sri Lanka Pioneer Corps.

Sri Lanka Army, now in the process of recruiting new personnel to the Army to replenish its cadres, has already referred several batches of recruits to various Army training institutes.
