In order to uplift living conditions and their economy, 4 Gemunu Watch troops of the 231 Brigade distributed 400 turmeric saplings among 20 families for cultivation in the general area of Pullayaweli in Batticaloa district on Tuesday (5).
Following instructions given by the Commander, 231 Brigade, Colonel W.M.N.K.D Bandara, troops organized the programme for distribution of 400 turmeric plants.
Commanding Officer 4 Gemunu Watch, Civil Affairs Officer, 231 Brigade and the Agrarian Officer, Karadiyanaru joined the distribution programme.
