With the aim of fostering unity and goodwill among the civilian populace, the 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (4 SLSR) organized a Football Tournament from 19 to 25 November 2023. The culmination of this event took place on Sunday (04 Feb) at the Collins Sports ground Nelliady, Jaffna.
Ten teams, each representing a Divisional Secretariat, eagerly competed for victory during the preliminary rounds. Among the participants, the Samarabahu Newton Sports Club and the Vadiri Diamond Sports Club, representing the Karaveddi Divisional Secretariat, emerged as the finalists and the Vadiri Diamond Sports Club emerged triumphant, clinching the Championship title.
General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, along with the Divisional Secretary of Point Pedro, Officials from Point Pedro Police Station, Presidents of Trade Associations, Grama Niladhari, Presidents of sports clubs and a large crowd of civilians, witnessed the tournament.
