Troops of the 4 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (4 SLAMC) acted promptly and donated blood to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital Blood Bank in order to replenish hospital stocks on Tuesday (15) at the 4 Sri Lanka Medical Corps office complex with the help of the medical staff at the blood transfusion unit.
Those 4 SLAMC troops, in response to a request made to Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna (SFHQ-J), volunteered in this connection and undertook the project.
A group of 56 troops voluntarily gave their blood to the hospital under the supervision of Major A. A. C. C. Kumara, Commanding Officer of 4 SLAMC. The directions of Brigadier Clifford Zoysa, Commander FMA-North encouraged the troops to participate in the project.
