As part of their 54th Anniversary commemorative ceremonies, 4 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) troops-based in Jaffna came forward to donate blood for the use of patients receiving treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
After the Blood Bank at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital informed the troops of their urgent need for blood for surgeries, the 4 SLA which was holding its 54th Anniversary programmes, took steps to organize the blood donation campaign at their premises as one more feature of the anniversary programmes.
Dr P Kodithuwakku and his staff at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital offered their support during the event. 130 Army personnel gave away blood showing their concern for the patients under treatment in the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
Commanding Officer, 4 SLA facilitated the programme to coincide with the anniversary agenda.
