32nd Commemoration of Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa Held at Araly Point

The 32nd commemoration of Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP was held at the Araly Point Monument in Kayts on 8 August 2024.

The Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, graced the event as the Chief Guest, together with Senior Tri-Service Officers. The commemoration was organised under the supervision of Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division.

The programme commenced with the singing of the National Anthem and religious observances. This was followed by a two-minute silence in memory of the fallen heroes. The Chief Guest, along with other Senior Officers, laid floral wreaths at the Araly Point War Heroes Monument. The ceremony concluded with the playing of the Last Post and the dismounting of the vigil.
